Louise Vanneste’s new show places her stake in sensory and perceptual experience and places her silence on presences. The artistic research of the Brussels choreographer deals with the human and the body, taking into account its animality. “Thérians” comes from thérianthropie, which is defined by the mythological capacity of man to be transformed into animal. It is not a matter of exploring mimetic relations, but rather a way of being in the world. The choreographic writing of Louise Vanneste combines intuition, instinct and composition. This is translated here by a way of presenting his body in an exposition of himself and by a direct and clear relationship with the viewer, installing an intimacy comparable to the bond that is woven between a reader and his book. This was a tremendous achievement, coupled with textile research, carried out in collaboration with CENTEXBEL, a textile research and innovation center and ECKART GmbH.
